❓ What’s the difference between safety coated glass and tempered glass?

Tempered glass is heat-treated to increase strength (3–5x stronger than annealed glass), but it can still shatter into small pieces under extreme impact. Safety coated glass adds a polymer layer that absorbs and distributes impact energy, preventing cracks from propagating. Think of it as tempered glass + a shock-absorbing suit.
